Enterprise crew returns for action-packed sequel.
What parents need to know
Parents need to know that Star Trek Into Darkness is the second movie in J.J. Abrams' reboot of the the generation-spanning sci-fi franchise. Chris Pine again stars as James T. Kirk, captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise, who, after being called home to Earth with his crew, discovers that a terrorist from within their own organization has destroyed Starfleet and is threatening mass destruction. Kirk, Commander Spock (Zachary Quinto), and the rest of the Enterprise crew (Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg) travel to a war zone to track down the perpetrator and seek revenge. Violent combat, explosive battle scenes, and a harrowing storyline likely make this sweeping adventure too intense for young kids.
